It has been a priority of his to enjoy and share the benefits of mountain life with his family of 5. Skiing, rafting, mountain biking, and hiking keep them busy all year long. An avid skier, whose passion for the sport began as a small child on the slopes of Sunday River, Maine, Pete served eight years on the Vail Ski Patrol. Those years interacting with and serving Vail's guests were invaluable, as he developed medical, decision making, backcountry and avalanche skills. This work led him to France where he worked as a "Pisteur" in the French Alps, which also helped him gain a perspective and understanding of people with different backgrounds and personalities.
An active member of the community, Pete also served as President of the Eagle River Watershed Council, a local non-profit dedicated to protecting and enhancing the high quality natural, scenic and economic values that the local rivers and tributaries provide our citizens, visitors and wildlife population.
